I’m just a girl | why it’s important to be in your feminine energy

I don’t know who needs to hear this today (probably me, honestly) but: it’s okay to just be a girl. And no, I don’t mean shrinking yourself, dimming your light, or folding into a perfect origami swan of “quiet and polite.” I mean leaning fully into your feminine energy — that soft-yet-powerful, intuitive, playful, magnetic side of you that doesn’t need to chase, because it attracts.

Somewhere along the way, between “girlbossing too close to the sun” and “healing my inner child via impulse skincare purchases,” we got the memo that to be powerful, we have to be… hard. Structured.

Growing up it was honestly always simpler to hangout with the guys, it seemed to work well for me—though I have always had that little part of me that always wanted to have the girlfriend bond, the sleepovers, the sisterhood— but it never fully landed. So I defaulted towards the path of hustling, being nonchalant, not being attached, the one who never cared too much, who got praised for “playing it like a pro.” Unlearning this has been a journey of a blossoming flower, forcing me to open up, to work through each layer as I open up into a sight of beauty.

Yes, we’re all running Fortune 500 companies from our Notes apps (don’t fight me on this). But here’s the thing: your feminine energy isn’t weakness, it’s power with a different flavor. Think soft power. Velvet ropes. Getting what you want without breaking a sweat, because your energy already whispered the invitation before your mouth even opened.

So what is feminine energy, really?

Let’s simplify: masculine energy is doing, feminine energy is being. Masculine is linear, feminine is flow. Masculine wants the map, feminine is the vibe. Both matter — but sis, if you’re only living in the “go, go, go,” you’re running on half your battery. Feminine energy lets you:

  • Receive without guilt. Compliments, love, help, flowers (buy yourself some too, duh).
  • Rest without proving. Because napping is spiritual, not lazy.
  • Express without censoring. Crying, laughing, squealing, dancing in your kitchen in a towel — all valid.
  • Magnetize without chasing. Your energy draws in people, opportunities, and miracles you couldn’t plan if you tried.
Why it matters

When you deny your feminine, you’re basically ghosting yourself. You end up exhausted, bitter, and wondering why everyone else seems to be floating through life like a Pinterest moodboard while you’re in the trenches with three iced coffees and a to-do list that looks like a Dischem receipt.

Your feminine side reminds you:

❣️ You don’t need to earn softness.

❣️ Slowing down doesn’t mean you’re falling behind.

❣️ Receiving is not the same as being “weak” (we’re retired from that narrative).

❣️ Pleasure, joy, and play aren’t extras — they’re the point.

How to tap in
  • Light that candle you’ve been “saving.” (Yes, the expensive one.)
  • Wear the lip gloss just because.
  • Say yes to help. No to things that drain you.
  • Romanticize your mornings: coffee in a real mug, silk robe optional but encouraged.
  • Trust your intuition more than Google.

Because here’s the secret: being in your feminine isn’t about being “less.” It’s about being whole. It’s the reminder that you are not just a to-do list on legs. You are a girl. A woman. A goddess in sneakers or stilettos.

And when you let yourself fully sink into that feminine energy? You stop chasing. You stop proving. You start glowing. And everyone notices.

So yeah, I’m just a girl. And that’s more than enough.
